I've been wanting to get in to shoot the 9/11 World Trade Center Tribute in Lights for years. 9/11/16, 15 years after that fateful day, I was finally able to head down to the Brooklyn Waterfront and shoot this incredibly moving scene. To see the brilliant lights shooting straight into the heavens... well, no words can really describe how your gut tightens and your eyes water a bit at the thought of all those people who lost their lives on 9/11.
September 1, 2015. rich colors of sunset over the harbor in Stony Brook. This is quickly becoming a favorite place to shoot for me, simply because of how rapidly the light changes, and the palette of colors shift...
Finished using Topaz Impressions, an awesome paint-your-photo-app.
There is a statue of a little girl catching butterflies in the Hershey Gardens... you come to it at the end of a path and its just full of vibrant, colorful flowers. Upon seeing the scene, I knew I would finish it using Topaz Impressions to give it a painted feel... Recently donated a 24x36 on canvas to a charity event, looked amazing.
A true magic moment captured! Woke to a dense morning fog in Cooperstown NY, grabbed the camera and set off to take some pictures... however Mother Nature decided to make it grey, damp and wet. I had seen this field of flowers at a local vineyard and decided to swing by only to find it grey and more grey... waited patiently as the sun began to burn through the mist and fog. Moments later... this appeared. Truly a favorite capture of mine
Robert Moses beach on Long Island offers photographers endless opportunities to capture Nature's beauty... caught with my iPhone 6 and finished using Snapseed.
Robert Moses Field 2, Long Island- New York
Morning fog over a small local lake in Cooperstown, NY. heat rising from the water's surface... tranquility captured.
The Milky Way rising above as a meteorite burns up across the night sky. Moments I feel honored to witness...
I follow Chase Jarvis and Laurie Excell quite a bit... Always loved thier work and one common theme they espouse... the BEST CAMERA is the one you ahve on you. Been using my iPhone 6 quite a bit along with Snapseed to finish my phone images... this one was taken at Robert Moses Beach on Long Island... simple composition taken at the water line... the best thing is every time you try this, you get something different!
For some reason I love this picture. It's stayed with me over the years. Was in Napa Valley, weather wasn't so great while I was there, and we turned from Vineyards to cars for a bit... this old Ford was by the side of a road, most passed it by... I got low and bracketed 5 shots and the result, well you be the judge. Feels very WWII-ish to me... almost like you could feel the soldiers off to the left, jsut out of the frame.
There is something about the Blue Angels and luckily the return to long Island every other year for the Jones Beach Air show (they alternate with the Thunderbirds, another awesome team!). This was a simple click finished in Topaz Impressions. love their signature blue and gold against the sky... always feel that swell of pride when I witness their amazing acrobatics...
